We've got a new stylist on our team! Andrea will be working in our Nolita store, and we're so excited to introduce her to you. Keep reading to learn more about Andrea and her journey to working in fashion.

Q: Tell us about yourself! Where are you from and what is your background?
A: I grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and attended the University of Virginia for Urban Planning, Architecture, and Sustainability. I am a curator, creative problem solver, and chronic overthinker! I wasn’t known to be very sporty growing up but I’ve been enjoying learning how to ski, running, and playing tennis (to the complete bafflement of my family.) I am also a total nerd and get too much enjoyment out of my daily Wordle achievements.
Q: Why did you decide to move to New York?
A: After graduating, I moved to New York in June 2020, and have lived here since! I'm in Nolita, just down the street from our Manhattan location, and I couldn’t love the neighborhood more. I can’t tell you what brought me here, but it’s always felt like New York or nowhere.

Q: Where are your favorite places to eat/drink in Nolita?
A: Cafe Gitane is a no-brainer. Thai Diner deserves all of the hype and more, and Torissi has been a great addition to the neighborhood if you’re looking for something special!
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: My personal style leans more maximalist, I like to think of my clothing as puzzle pieces. Some days I push the boundaries, some days I dress more nostalgic. I balance my maximalist style by shopping sustainably, investing in long-term pieces, and treasure-hunting for one-of-a-kind vintage. I am always trying to achieve a look that’s unique and impactful.

Q: How did you become interested in working in fashion?
A: When I studied abroad in Milan, the program I was in placed everyone in internships. I didn’t have enough Italian language competency to qualify for an Architecture role, so I found myself at a fashion consulting firm. It was the best time of my life and the friendships and memories I made there are some of my most cherished. That experience sparked my interest in working in fashion after graduation.
Q: How did you get introduced to the Meg brand?
A: My downstairs neighbor is the brightest ray of sunshine, and happens to be Meg Indy, who did the print collaboration for this season at Meg. She befriends everyone that she meets, and we became friends quickly. When Meg was looking for help in the Nolita store, Meg Indy thought I would be a great fit and I couldn’t agree more!

Q: What is your favorite piece from the current Meg collection?
A: I’m excited for the Meg Indy collaboration pieces that will be in-store soon, and right now the Cowl Top in Chartreuse is my go-to. It brightens any outfit and the fit is effortlessly chic.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working in retail?
A: I love being helpful, and I love problem-solving! When we get older and our friendships evolve, many of us lose the connections that help us explore fashion and our sense of style. We all have more important things going on, we don’t have sleepovers anymore, we get ready alone and in a rush and it’s no fun.
I love offering friendship, making space for playing, and giving others the attention they deserve. My favorite thing about working in fashion is celebrating how we all get to be the creative directors of our lives. I am so excited to share my skills with you and make getting dressed more fun.

Q: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
A: This may be the toughest question in this interview. I have always applauded myself for being decisive growing up. I tried to be good at everything and just picked the best opportunity that presented itself. Now that I’m in my mid-twenties and the world is wide open, there is no good, better, best and when you decide, you give something else up.
I now find it infinitely more challenging to pursue one thing when I know that’s what I have to do to achieve success. In five years I see myself continuing to struggle with the pursuit of perfection, however, I know that I'll be five steps closer to a fulfilling career in styling and curation, having a happy family, and owning or renting a place in Milan to visit old friends.
Q: When can Meg clients meet you in Nolita?
A: I’ll be working in Nolita on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. I can’t wait to meet you all, please stop by and say hello!
